Black walnut grows quickly on deep, fertile, well-drained soil and can reach sawlog size in a lifetime. The roots release juglone, which suppresses tomatoes, apples and many ornamentals, so keep it out of the vegetable garden. We sell nuts and seedlings from heavy-bearing parents.
